The rental from Rentalcars.com (part of InterRent) was the cheapest. But you get what you pay for, service was poor and the car was not in a great shape with lots of external damage, a poorly performing engine and worst of all ‘spongy’ brakes.
Just returned car back on 24/8/22 and so far experience is good and no problem. Out of office key drop box available which was plus.

The office is closed so you have to collect keys from Goldcar who deliver the rudest service I have ever experienced. There is no waiting area and you will be there a looong time. Check Google, we waited 90 minutes. Complete rubbish, even the off airport shuttle service is much better.
Extremely unhelpful and stressful checkin for the car with a very hard sell on extra insurance. To collect the car 2hrs earlier they wanted 280Euros! At no point were we advised to return the car clean. Upon return they charged 60Euro cleaning fee when we had pictures to prove it was not dirty. Worst awful company, do not recommend.
Watch out guys, don't hire cars there! When we were at the information desk, the employee told us the total cost of the car would be 49,90 for 1 day. We asked if this is surely all, and he said yes. A few days later I checked my bank account and saw they booked 90 € in total, 40 € more! When called, they said it's for additional fees. These fees they never mentioned at all before! Also, the fees are ridiculous, like a gasoline fee, even though we paid all gasoline ourselves and returned the car fully fueled! The service ignores emails and offers no solutions what so ever. Will never rent a car at InterRent again, and don't recommend anyone else to do so. Rather go to a trustworthy company that tells exactly what they charge.
Very efficient and clear on options. Car was in good condition and no surprises on return. Excellent value for money on this rental.
When we got to the airport she said I had to leave 1400€ deposit which I didn’t have. When then said I could pay 158€ non refundable deposit plus 134€ fuel which would get back if I returned the car full which I did. I tried to explain I had taken out extra insurance separately but she said it didn’t mean anything. Had to take car but now still not received 134€ fuel deposit back. Rubbish attitude of staff and when I call just get cut off
I booked with Interrent only to find they were now operating as Goldcar, both apparently now owned by Europcar. I may not have booked had I known due to a previous poor experience with Goldcar. However, they were inexpensive and the collection and return were very straightforward; my only concern being the lack of explanation regarding the money taken as a deposit for petrol and potential damage. My particular agent didn’t mention their own excess cover, very unusual as I could hear the usual aggressive sales pitch to other customers. I did however inform them I had my own cover. Another point, they actually took money off my card rather than blocking a set amount, this could be problematic if you are charged fees by your bank and don’t get a competitive exchange rate. Luckily I have a no fee bank card so may actually be in profit as the £ dropped in value while there...but it could work the other way and you’d lose out. I haven’t yet been reimbursed but I presume that’s typically slow admin on their part. The car was fine and , so long as I get my deposits properly refunded, I’m happy.
Avoid this scamming company! They overcharged me over 66 Euro for "car cleaning" and fuel refill (the tank was full). You even can't connect them via their website.
Never had such a hard sell with scare tactics, and aggressive with it, don't bother with these cow boys

Hired from InterRent as reviews where good but when got to there desk it daid go to Goldcar instead. They tryed to get me to take oit there insurance at 95 euro and told me the one i have with Reduce my Excess is no good and not valid i argued it out and after showing all my paperwork declined there insurance. They was very preasurising to try and get you to have there insurance. They try to frighten you into taking it.
SCAM!!!! I avoiding gold car as been scammed off them in Malta , only to find out interrent are the same company, I booked extra insurance online only to be told it wasn't worth the paper it written on and I needed to buy another insurance at nearly £200, very misleading !!
I have used Interent on numerous occasions at both Alicante and Malaga Airports They have an office on the airport and they run a fleet of clean modern cars I use my reduce my excess policy every time and enjoy some great deals on rentals The interent website is clear and you can custom build your rental depending on your needs Overall great option whilst in Spain
