  • We wanted an automatic car and we wereprovided with a fairly new Opel Corsa with a joystick type gear change. Driving down the Sithonia peninsula in Halkidiki it seemed as though there was "kangeroo juice" in the tank. When accelerating there was a loss of power till more pressure was applied to the accelerator. It was an unsettling experience in a remote area. In addition the engine warning light came on. A call to the firm suggested that the jerkiness was normal with this gearbox, and the warning light could be ignored. The day was a disaster as I just wanted to return the car. Later the disbelieving hire manager drove the car and eventually agreed that it was not as it should be. The car was back on the forecourt that evening presumably for re-hire. The next day we were provided with an older Hyundai Accent which was a much better drive.
