Abbey Car Hire
Abbey Car Hire which is a 2 minute walk just outside of the airport.The office there was also advertising other budget car hire companies so they were just not abbey car hire. The guy there started off very nice as he was getting very frustrated with us as we did not want Abbeys full protection co er for £250 extra. It ended up being very stressful and not pleasant. He didn’t like it that we booked “reducemyexcess”. He tried very hard to say our cover wasn’t sufficient. We politely declined his full protection cover. He said that our pin for the credit card was declined as pin failed 3 attempts so he said . It was very stressful as we knew the pin. I asked him if I could use my card (we tried to use my card initially by hr said it had to be the drivers so he knew that I had a working credit card ). He said there was another way and that was to buy his protection. My husband was so confused and went to try the card at an atm just outside and it worked . We went back into the office, he tried again. He was very insistent that “when” we have an accident he will charge us £250 for the police report so either way he’ll get his money. He kept saying so what do you want to do. It was the most unpleasant experience. So unpleasant it spoilt the start of the holiday as my husband was too nervous to drive as the guy kept saying we will need a police report. He was so sure we would have an accident . We declined as we were confident with our cover with reduce my excess. At one stage though we nearly crumbled though. He also made up upgrade to a bigger car as he would not let try and fit 4 suitcases in, he said our car was only for 2 small cases. When I booked it was with KosCarHire and on their website it said 3 medium cases. Don’t use KosCarHire and don’t use the actual car hire company AbbeyCar Hire .
