  • DO NOT RECOMMEND !! ABSOLUTE FRAUD ! WE RENT OUT CARS AT LEAST 2 A YEAR AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE !! WE RENTED WITH THERE FRAUDSTERS AND BEEN CHARGED £50 AT FIRST BECAUSE APPARENTLY WE ARRIVED AFTER OFFICE CLOSURE (THE OFFICE WAS STILL OPENED AND THEY HAVE HAD THE TIMES OF OUR FLIGHTS WHEN WE INITIALLY BOOKED, SCAMMERS) WHEN MY PARTNERS CAR WAS SCRATCHED AND DAMAGED ALL OVER THE PLACE (THE CHEKOUT DOCUMENTS ONLY HAD FEW MARKS- THE LADY SAID DO NOT WORRY JUST MAKE PICTURES ) SO WE DID AND GUESS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN CHARGED 200E FOR SOMETHING WE HAVE NOT DONE ! THE CAR WAS IN BAD CONDITION ARLEADY ! ON TOP OF THIS WE REALISED FEW WEEKS AFTER AS WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY CHECK IN DOCUMENTATION FROM THIS COMPANY ! ALSO NOTHING SAYING WE HAVE BEEN CHARGED AND WHAT FOR ! THEY HAVE ONLY SEND US A PICTURE OF DOORS AND SAID THIS REPAIR COST US 200E ?? WHAT REPAIR ?? CAN YOU ADVISE ? EXPLAIN ?? WHERE IS THE INVOICE FOR THIS ??!!! WHERE ARE CHECK IN DOCUMENTS ?? I HAVE RECEIVED MINES FEW DAYS AFTER RENTAL AND THIS WAS 2 MONTHS AGO !! MY PARTNER STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED DOCUMENTS AND YOU ARE NOT REPLYING TO ANY OF OUR EMAILS !! YOURE ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS ! YOU ARE CHARGING FOR GOD KNOWS WHAT AND WE WILL TAKE THIS FURTHER ! ABSOLUTLY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY AND BEHAVIOUR !!! SHAME OF YOU DO NOT RENT OF THIS COMPANY !!!

  • I went to Rhodium (a Europcar company) to pick up a car I booked thru a booking portal. The advertised price was about 30€. At the agency the employee lied an said that I had to pay extra insurance of 179€. It was not advertised, it was not in the contract and I didn't need it because I have excess insurance on my credit card, I told him NO!!! He then claimed that I had to pay airport tax even if my contract clearly stated that it was included in the rental and It was advertised as included in the rental, once again I said NO!!! I was very clear from the beginning that I only wanted to pay deposit on the car, deposit on the fuel and rent of the car because I called the company in advance and checked that that was the case (I have the recording). That made him angry and very rude. He told me that I was a problem customer and it was obvious that I was suppose to buy all these things on top of the rental. After I came home I found out that he added more that 30€ of charged on my credit card for services I never ask for and never wanted. Now I have to wait 30 days for a reply on my complaint and if I'm lucky a minimum of 30 days for a refund. This is how Goldstar, Interrent, Rhodium all Europcar companies operate on a daily basis. Just look at ALL the thousands of bad reviews and all the Facebook Boycott pages. If you rent a car from any of these companies you are likely to get screwed (excuse my french).

  • The sole purpose of the vehicle checker on return is to claim damage where no damage has occurred. Goldcar intend to make a claim for a ‘mark’ that is barely discernible. You have to get within 6 inches of the bodywork to see it. I cannot say whether or not the mark was there when I picked up the car. When I collected the car I had to point out to that the wheel arch plastic moulding was broken, easily seen on cursory inspection but which they had not identified. In other words, if Goldcar missed the clearly, easily seen wheel arch damage that I pointed out on collection, how can they claim with certainty that the indiscernible mark identified on re delivery was not there on collection.

  • Never use Goldcar. They are running a scam where they force you to buy insurance at 4 times the price of hiring the car itself. The man at the desk said they needed a £3.5k deposit unless we took their insurance and also said that if we didn't they would definitely find something wrong with the car. Total con, don't use them.

  • Totally shocking. Waited for over 3 hours for them to sort a car along with everyone else. They use a ticket system which make no sense and the staff are that rude that when you ask you just more or less get told to go away and wait for your number.Car was not what I booked.

  • Much the same as any other, their full cover is extortionate same as other companies, if they offered a reasonable charge for the cover then you wouldn't end up feeling completely ripped off, I'm glad I discovered Reduce My Excess!.

  • The agent at the pick up desk lied to me and said that if I did not take the CDW waiver insurance that he could not release the car to me. He also said the 1100 euros deposit was non refundable and therefore to take their insurance was the best (only sensible ) way to go. When I questioned this, he said that the rules on this had changed in the last year

  • Unhappy. Poor service. 1). Spent over 20-30 mins arguing with the person on the desk that I didn’t need to pay for their excess waiver because I had alternative insurance. She told me that no insurance will be “valid” they are the only company who can insure their cars. She wants me to pay 147euros. I refused and she was so passive and aggressive but wouldn’t let it go. I had 3 tired children with me and I just wanted to get the car. I had to be almost rude to get her to stop hounding me about the excess. She did everything she could to give me anxiety about damaging the car and having to “full responsibility” for it. 2.) on returning the car, the parking spaces were tight. A man was shouting at my kids to get out the car whilst I was reversing in. He was horrible and aggressive and I will be complaining. I wasn’t able to direct them to a safe space and had to shout back to tell him to back off whilst I could coach them to walk to safe space in a really just car park while k parked up. The he opened the boot, obviously in a hurry to get the check done, and I hadn’t even got our car seats out. I was livid. Never again Goldcar.
