  • Reliable service, with friendly and helpful staff members. Highly recommended.

  • They were disappointing, Group M car description was misleading, advertised a Jeep and provided a Seat Arona Hard sell on the insurance cover, including whether vandalism was included in my excess cover, and upgrade on the breakdown cover.

  • 30 minute queuing at the pickup counter (only one staff member) wasn’t an ideal start but after that everything was excellent. Efficient admin, friendly and no upselling. Thorough walk around of the car with staff member to familiarise with the car and agree any existing damage. Car type was as booked, clean and well maintained. Quick, easy and friendly return procedure and repeat walk around. Email receipt confirming satisfactory condition and no additional charges supplied immediately.

  • Staff were fine but not overly helpful. Returning car was nightmare not clearly signposted. I got out the car to as the colleagues at the return desk & they were not helpful. Once we eventually got the car returned the colleagues who checked us back in was really friendly.

  • Good service, only hassle was returning it to the airport at Milan. Problem with the airport parking (not their responsibility) but maybe could have given clearer instructions for where to return. Would have been a problem if we had been on a tight timetable.

  • Terrible company, have been charged Eu580 for the most minor damage, barely noticeable that I had pointed out to them upon pickup. Their staff pretended to amend the paperwork and photograph the damage upon pickup but later produced 'unamended' paperwork to prove their claim. Thieves, do not use.

  • BEWARE - THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR DAMAGE YOU HAVEN'T DONE IF YOU DON'T HIGHLIGHT EVERY TINY BLEMISH. I hired a car for a week and literally only drove it twice - to the resort and back to the airport. We nearly missed our flight because the car battery was flat when we went to leave so had to find someone with leads to jump start us, and there was a worrying warning to stop all the way to Catania airport. I literally had to run from the rental office to make the flight but the check in guy said all was OK. 4 hours later I got an email claiming €400 for a scratch on a wheel. Firstly I only drove on A roads and 100% definitely didn't do it. Secondly a full wheel refurb costs about €60 not €400. They also said there was no fault with the car despite me showing the check in guy the warning on the dash. Maybe my fault for missing the small mark on the wheel when we collected but it was really hot and the guy was distractingly chatting as I walked around - also they should have marked it on the check out paperwork if it was chargeable. So just beware if you use this mob to ensure every little blemish is photographed and noted on your docs.

  • Very quick pick up through their Smart Checkin. Avoided the airport desk & could go straight to the car park. Speedy check on return. All good

  • Friendly efficient operation

  • Pre-Paid and arranged prior to getting to the airport. All paperwork ready to agree and sign. Once I said I had excess cover there was no hard sell. The car had been checked and all issues agreed. No issues on return. Very satisfied.

  • The worst experience EVER !!! This people are CONMEN. I booked a FIAT PANDA. They asked me if I want extra insurance or just basic…and I went with basic. Afterward, they asked me if I wish an ulgrade to a better car, an Audi A3 for only 3 euro, for being their customer for the first time. I agreed, went to the parking lot and checked the car. It had minor scratches on the bidy which I acknowledge. when I brought back the car, they checked thoroughly and after 15 minutes found a 0.5 cm SCRATCH on the windshield. I could barely notice it, even in the light. They said that this was damage caused by myself, that the windshield had to be fully replaced and that my insurance doesn’t cover it. And guess what ?? My deposit was for 500 € and the cost of the damage was 495 €. I swear that this people pulled one of the ugliest and meanest tricks. this is their agency in Treviso airport, so please AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

  • I hired a car at Pisa - unfortunately on the motorway I was forced to the side of the road by a dangerous italian driver swerving in front of me. There was very slight damage to the car from running over the motorway edge markers. Locauto charged €280 + €70 fees but that didn't worry me as I had full insurance. However when I asked for photos of all the claimed damages, they kept sending me photos that did not show the damage! Eventually I got the needed photos and my insurers paid the claim. Then I got demands from a debt collection agency for €431- Locauto had passed the case on to them after I had paid! They are still pursuing me 3 months after the incident.

  • Scammers I arrived at Milano airport at Jan 15 and then I booked a car online with my Visa debit card which was charged 166 EUR. After 30 minutes I'm at their office to receive the car and they say that they need 500 EUR insurance via credit card and not debit card. I said I only have the debit card with me and so they cancelled my reservation and they said they will refund me and no further action is required. So I took a taxi and left the airport. 4 months later they still didn't refund me and I contacted them and they say they will keep the money!!!!!!!!!! This is steal. They said I didn't have a credit card and I had a debit card with me and it's not acceptable and based on their policy is to keep my money for giving me nothing. Scammers. I already applied for a charge back and let's see what visa will say now.

  • We had a very good experience. The check in and check out were swift and efficient. I had read mixed reviews for the company but couldn't fault them. The car was brand new with no damage before or after we rented. That made check in very easy.

  • Thought I’d post a review on here as I managed to get my money back from these thieves. So back in sept 2019 booked car hire through a UK broker called Zest that indicated the car hire was with Alamo. Anyway fast forward to landing and making my way to the car rental area, and then I saw the Alamo sign but also the name Locauto. Straight away the alarm bells were ringing as I’d read a lot of bad reviews. Anyway I got the usual sales pressure about their super insurance but I always sort this in the UK, as the costs are a rip off. Anyway it’s dark I check the car over and to be fair it looked fine. So off we go to our apartment and to be fair when I checked over on the following morning there wasn’t anything obviously wrong, so that was that. About half way through the week I noticed the key fob needed me to be closer and closer to the car before it would unlock it. At that point my minds thinking it’s just the battery in the key fob, and then for the last day or so it stopped working and I just had to use the key to lock and unlock the car. So at the point of returning the car, this is where it went bad. So I’d filled the car with fuel, there was no bodywork damage, only that the key fob had stopped working. Straight away the rep is trying to say I’ve damaged it/ been in the sea with the keys in my pocket. I explained that vehicle maintenance isn’t the hirers responsibility and when signing the paperwork off I wrote ‘ No Damage ‘ and got their rep to sign off the paperwork. At this point I said I want a copy of the paperwork as I had a feeling this wasn’t the end of it. So after 2 months I notice a charge on my credit card from Locauto for €250. So I contact my credit card company and ask what is it, they say vehicle damage. So then Locauto have a complaints website, which I filled out my grievance. Short version is they said initially I’d lost the keys , then I’d damaged the keys, then a garage report appeared saying water damage to the key. The report I’m sure was bogus as it was dated the day after I returned the car but in the dispute with them, this report didn’t appear until 2 months of back and forth emails. It took a huge effort to demonstrate to my credit card company that this was a fraudulent transaction, but finally I got the money refunded. I think what made my case justified was I wrote the ‘no damage’ on the car return paperwork, and their rep signed, thus nullifying their you signed at the point of hire to pay for any damage Basically avoid these f******s like the plague
