Too many added extras, even though I purchased \'reduce my excess\'
— Gary • July 10, 2026We hired through rental cars and paid for the insurance against the excess charge. The whole process was a disaster! Firstly the queue at the airport checkin took nearly an hour, then after a very long walk to the end of the hire garage we had to wait another30 mins to be allocated our car.it was covered in dents and marks which we took photos of and the lady booking us out got fed up with marking all the marks and put "Scratches all round" which made me nervous, they then took 60 euros for the petrol on a full to full basis and blocked 1100 euros on the card .Well when we returned the car on 28th sept there was a small chalk Mark on the front wing, this got the attendant very excited to charge me,I wiped of the chalk Mark which revealed 2 very small marks barely visible to the naked eye and invisible to the camera pictures we took! They were not consistent with the chalk graze more consistent with the large dent one same wheel arch, despite me showing him the original sign out form I was invoice for 380 euros, this is disgusting and is robbery. It is now 15 October and have still not received refund for fuel and they have also taken 370euros of my card.yes I can reclaim from rental cars insurance, but the point is never ever hire a car from this company,I feel that my insurance company have been well and truly robbed, and if this scam is carried out only a few times a week it soon comes to some very serious money that they are stealing!!
— Rooster • May 19, 2026MALAGA AIRPORT in terminal... V/292-2020-15733 Ref: 6759823593 Complaint against :JUAN CARLOS (customer service representative at Record Go) Date incident 14/10/2020 at 13.38 hrs NEVER AGAIN ...DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOUR OF STAFF RECORDGO customer services representative a one Mr Juan Carlos attitude was disgraceful this man’s arrogance was unbelievable.... I would honestly recommend this man is reprimanded or dismissed as the customers you will lose from his sheer arrogance is unbelievable. I was the only customer at the desk and it took over 30 minutes to collect my vehicle he kept speaking about €700 access I informed him I read all the terms and conditions with reference to higher car and was fully aware of the deposit holding charge of 1100 Euro which was not a problem but he insisted on telling me about scratches breakdowns etc and at one point even pretended to leave for 10 minutes while he checked the car and he had a phone on the desk he was insulting my intelligence, pick phone up ring he was deceptive and constantly lying and even refused to give me the car twice I don’t know what game he was playing but this was extremely frustrating and insulting bordering on disgraceful .. Photo attached of his dawdling with the numbers 1100 and €700 tried to explain it was an access or damage I should take on more insurance I have hired 15 to 20 vehicles from all different Car Hire companies in Malaga airport even from Recordgo before and I never take extra insurance ever. The vehicle was not clean ,fuel gauge indicator just on full and key battery fob low warning indication up ... Spoken to the three RECORDGO representative at collection a man ,told him !! he looked uninterested and shrugged his soulders to say (AND/SO) his answer don’t have any batteries ...this is serious as to have the vehicle not start when miles from Malaga would be a serious issue for us . Drove to Estepona (No Aircon)some 80km fuel just above 3/4 ....hard ride so checked air press 3 tyres 1.6bar(23.2psi) 1 tyre 2.5bar(36psi).....inside for door inner arch OS manufacturers correct tyre pressure 32-36psi ...I put correct air in tyres ,valet inside and power washed myself and topped to full, full ie indicator was 2-3mm passed the full line .... I could drive 50/60 km before that gauge moves as everyone knows ... Recordgo response free vehicle upgrade from Patricia G Customer Services.... NEVER AGAIN USE THIS COMPANY :RECORDGO Deplorable and disgraceful behaviour from there arrogant service representative.
— Springdene • May 19, 2026Cheap, but tinny and underpowered vehicle. Hard to find desk at arrivals (tho seems to be an airport issue rather than company-specific). Main problem was a horrific car cleaning fee that was imposed - 150 EUR because it had rained (so the car was muddy, despite only driving on roads) and leaving a few crumbs inside.
— TomI • November 2, 2025Very nice, clean car. Process was straight forward. Helpful staff.
— Fran Bridgend • October 29, 2025Arrived 40 minutes early rental company mentioned car was not ready instead they offered me two alternatives wait or have an upgrade for a very low price to pay took the upgrade and all good.
— Spider Mick • September 22, 2025Helpful & friendly staff. Easy to collect car & return it. Good experience with peace of mind from Reduce my Excess.
— Pudcfisher • September 14, 2025Hired a Kia Sportage or Similar from Record go T1 in Barcelona. The office was very busy and waited 15 minutes in the hot car park to collect the car. The attendant was friendly but there was a mandatory €55 breakdown service you had to take if you didn't take their €250 excess (which I didn't as I had ReduceMyExcess). The car was fine, no issues. Upon return the car park was easy to find and after another 10 minute wait the attendant checked the car over and there was no issue. My view is they are a bit Ryanair, look cheap but try to get you with extras. I would use them again but would factor in the "extras" when comparing to others.

— Angela cm • August 11, 2025Friendly and very helpful
— Brizee • July 23, 2025Pick up from the airport was quick and so was the process for collection of the car and it's return. Fuel supplement was refunded promptly
— CitizenSmith • July 18, 2025Had the experience of renting a Mercedes v 250 for 4 days with comprehensive insurance. After the end of the rental 2 days later 125 euros were withdrawn. Wrote to get an explanation. The answer was that I had driven 1400km, which is more than the mileage limit. But I did not drive more than 350km. Asked to check gps trainers and previous documents on this car. Responded that there is no basis for a refund. My mistake was that I did not check the mileage specified in the contract and in fact when I picked up the car, and it was on the car for 1000km more. Be more careful when renting a car from this company.....

— Simon • May 30, 2025RG ignored the Car voucher issued by Easyjet and issued their own contract. They refused to accept my own excess policy and gave me three of their own insurance options , I choose the cheapest at 222.50 euros
— Frank Smith • May 23, 2025RG ignored the Car voucher issued by Easyjet and issued their own contract. They refused to accept my own excess policy and gave me three of their own insurance options , I choose the cheapest at 222.50 euros
— Frank Smith • May 23, 2025Good service, nice car
— Gaz • May 22, 2025Very difficult to locate at first as they are not in the Terminal, but in the main car park, Level 1. They are very efficient and also quite friendly, Both the booking process and collection were very easy, as was the return at the end of the hire period. Recommended.
— Mackem Col • May 12, 2025got an upgrade on the car for free, the car was of excellent quality and condition
— bill • April 9, 2025First time using & hopefully not the last. Instructions on where & when the pickup would happen were spot on. Three assistants on the desk so waiting was minimal. Even though the usual CDW was offered, it wasn't forced. Slight upgrade on original stated car which was also very clean but they still advised us to take pics for our records. No hassle hand back, dropped keys off & transport was waiting to return us to airport less than 5 mins away. Received an ‘all clear’ report back within 2 hours. 5*
— Record Go (Smoothly!) • April 3, 2025
BEWARE Record Go car rental users. Record Go are a deceitful, dishonest, fraudulent company who will con or scam you at every opportunity. Their staff can be unfriendly, aggressive and will try to intimidate you into taking their insurance and other extras when you arrive which are ridiculously highly priced. If you do not take their insurance it is possible you will be given a car which has been damaged with some of the damage hidden, discreet, difficult to see and not recorded on the contract you sign. They are hoping you will not notice all the damage and when you return the car you will be charged compensation which will be more than you could imagine. They will also dispute any photos you take and if you want the car inspected by one of their agents in your presence when you return the car (which you should always do) and an excuse is made that it is not possible or not needed then you are probably lined up to be scammed. Their cars are not inspected honestly and thoroughly on their return. Damage to locks even though they work and are under the 4cm rule are not reported but used to charge you for the damage. They will send you photos of the damage you are supposedly responsible for, but these photos could have come from a different car with the same colour, as no number plate can be seen in some of the photos and you have by now probably left the country. Without doubt they often operate pre-planned scams to those who do not take their extortionately priced insurance which costs more for a week than one would normally pay a year for their own car. There are rental car companies that offer car rental with full insurance at less than half the price of Record Go and if Record Go are the only option you have to rent a car I would strongly recommend you either use the bus or walk. This review has come from self experience, they are truly another car rental company to avoid as well as Goldcar.
— Hurricane • February 17, 2025We paid for the rental of 3 cars for a business trip. Unfortunately, it turned out on the spot that when collecting the deposit they do not honor debit cards, including Revolut. In addition, the deposit had to be paid by the person designated as the driver. The only solution offered by the employee was to pay full insurance and designate a second driver who would pay the bail with his credit card. The additional charges were double the cost of the car rental and made the offer more expensive than other rental companies at the airport, where we encountered no problems with the rental. We ended up having to rent cars from another company and lost the deposit we had previously paid to Record Go. The staff was very abrasive. I sincerely advise against choosing RECORD GO.
— Jacek • December 16, 2024Please, don't give this company a penny. They are scamers. They will fu** with your vacation time and with your money. They gave me a car with a sensor problem at Adblue levels. Than the car stopped with an Adblue full tank and they acused me of that. More, to give me another car, they charged me more than the price i have paid for all rent time. I ve never seen a company like this. Run from them!
— Alan • October 10, 2024Be aware they charge more than 40 euros extra if you arrive at their office after 23:00. I wasn’t informed about that when I was booking, so I find this quite out of order as I should have been informed before booking. They seem to be really hungry for money .
— Marmen • October 7, 2024I am deeply disappointed by the appalling level of service I’ve received from your company. After booking a car just three hours before the pickup time due to an urgent situation, I was shocked to discover that canceling the booking is virtually impossible. Despite being a loyal customer, I’ve been met with nothing but frustrating obstacles and unhelpful policies. The fact that I was advised by your staff to contact support, only to be stonewalled by inflexible and rigid cancellation policies, speaks volumes about how little your company values its customers. I’ve reached out in good faith, hoping that my history with your company would be considered, but instead, I’m left feeling completely disregarded. I requested either a credit for future rentals or even a partial refund—something that should be standard practice for a company that claims to care about its customers. Yet, it seems your primary concern is holding onto my money, regardless of the circumstances. This experience has been nothing short of infuriating, and it’s clear that your company prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. I will certainly think twice before considering your services in the future and will be sharing this negative experience with others to warn them of your lack of empathy and customer care. Sincerely, Ievgen
— ievgen L • August 28, 2024Record Go accepted my Reduce My Excess insurance although did still try to sell me their own. Their fully comprehensive package was offered at over €200. Although my car hire was offered on a ful/ full fuel basis Record Go told me I would still have to pay a fuel deposit which was €82.30. I was not informed of this in advance of my booking and so this came as a surprise. Equally surprising was that I was informed breakdown wasn’t included and was asked for €62 for that which I did pay. Having said that collecting and returning the car was seamless although the car was thoroughly inspected at the return station. The car itself was as described and was pretty new, in good condition. I would recommend Record Go but as with most hire car companies I’d still preach caution.
— Jarpar • August 22, 2024I recently hired a vehicle in Barcelona from RecordGo and even took out extra cover for towing as advised by the agent. Here are the facts: 1. The car had a technical fault when we were about to leave for the airport, forcing us to make a quick decision to avoid missing our flights. 2. We called the RecordGo offices, but received no response. 3. We contacted roadside assistance, who advised us to take a taxi and reclaim the expenses. All calls are recorded, and we provided RecordGo with the call time for proof. 4. We left the vehicle in a secure location, the private parking of a hotel within the Park Aventura Resort. 5.We returned the keys and informed the consultant of the situation. He assured us that it wasn't an issue and that RecordGo would retrieve the vehicle. 6. We submitted a claim for the taxi fare. It took RecordGo four days to respond to my email. They claimed we "deserted" the vehicle, thereby invalidating the extra cover. Leaving the vehicle in a secure, private parking area for hotel residents is far from desertion. They refused to reimburse the taxi fare and unjustly charged me EUR 500 for towing the vehicle. As a result, our car hire bill increased by EUR 700 for two days due to a problem that was not our fault. Despite providing proof of our calls, following protocol, and submitting all necessary documentation, my account was debited, and our evidence was ignored. This experience represents the poorest customer service I have ever encountered. I strongly advise others to avoid dealing with this unethical company. Stay away from RecordGo.
— NOS • August 4, 2024As always the staff tried to sell you insurance extras, giving you horror stories about break down costs etc, which shows the faith they have in their own vehicles. Also they charged me for fuel and said I would be reimbursed if vehicle returned with a full tank, as long as I had a receipt from a garage no more than 10k from their depot. This has incurred a foreign transaction charge on my account and I have not been reimbursed 3 days later. I would say they were very pleasant on the return
— Grumpy old man • June 22, 2024I had rented from RecordGo for a number of years prior to my rental in May 2024, when I found that the pick-up and return processes had changed. Online pre-completion of much of the paperwork made for a quick and easy pickup, although I was slightly dubious about the key now being provided at the desk in the airport arrivals area, with minimal staffing presence in the office by the parking bays. As usual, there was limited space and poor lighting in the parking bays, which as always makes visual inspection of the vehicles difficult, but I carried out a visual check and made sure that existing damage was shown on the booking for. On returning the vehicle after 10 days of uneventful motoring I found that there were no checking-in staff by the vehicle return bays, with only one member of staff in the car park office. I did a visual check of the vehicle and then gave the car key, and the petrol top-up receipt to this lone member of staff. Later that day, after arriving home, I found that my credit card had been debited an unexpected payment by RecordGo, with no notification as to what this was for until, after waiting for 2 to 3 days I queried this with RecordGo, and some days later received a copy of a repair estimate for damage which had allegedly occurred during the hire period. The email also included some very poor photographs of the alleged damage, along with much copying and pasting from the hire agreement, with particular emphasis given to the fact that I had not chosen the 'Total Comfort' option when booking the car. This option would have more than doubled the cost of hiring the car, so as in previous years I had opted to purchase separate excess insurance. This was far cheaper and offered better cover than that provided by the 'Total Comfort' option that RecordGo seemd keen that I should consider. Some observations: With no checking-in staff to check for and point out new damage to a vehicle, renters are totally at the mercy of the hire company, with no option but to pay for any claimed damage. Photos provided could of course have been of any other similar vehicle. Damage caused when vehicles are moved after return will always be blamed on the last hirer. Vehicle hire costs have increased considerably since pre-covid. Do RecordGo see taking payments for damage which cannot be disputed, and where 'Total Comfort' hire option has not been taken, as a nice little extra earner?
— Banyeto • June 11, 2024My mother in law and her husband were tricked into paying extra insurance which is non refundable. They were not offered to pay the security deposit, which is refundable when your return the car. They tried to explain to the employee that they had insurance and therefore wanted to pay a security deposit instead. The employee did not understand and did not want to help. She couldn't handle herself in english, was rude, arrogant and didn't bother to spend time explaining or helping them. They could have used google translate as a service for the elderly. The older people thought the extra they paid was the security deposit and that they would get the deposit back when they returned the car... Record go cannot see the problem and will not pay back the 218 euros which was totally unnecessary for the elderly to pay. Record go deny bad service and try to make us think that their staff are very well trained which must be said to be the biggest joke. It is not about money but about respect, good service and justice...
— Konieczny • May 27, 2024Good customer service. Great little car. Clean and reliable
— Melarky • May 15, 2024Awful company to deal with. You don't get the car you booked. They're all damaged and if you don't go over it with a fine tooth comb before you collect it, you'll be charged for the damage that's not on their checklist.
— Pissed off • May 8, 2024Service and car good BUT there was a surcharge because I am 70. This was not advised in advance and almost doubled the hire charge!
— Rich • May 1, 2024Seems ok
— Tez • April 29, 2024Excellent
— Rich • April 28, 2024New hybrid car was very good, BUT, they added an additional high surcharge because I am age 70. This was not advised in advance and nearly doubled the hire charge
— Rich • April 28, 2024Spoke great English, easy instruction, No damage report told took take pictures, there was damage so took pictures, overall very good service and best prices.
— Sportytaxi • March 8, 2024Easy and Hassle free experience, with no pressure to take their insurance
— Alan McN • February 21, 2024This company are THIEVES. The whole process was a nightmare. I arrived to find They had cancelled my booking blaming Rental Cars.com for the cancellation. Rental cars denied this. Record go then wanted over 4 times the original price to hire the same car. I declined and rebooked online. Record go then made me wait 2 hours to get my car. They are argumentative and threatening when you refuse their insurance. They do not check the car on pickup or return and have then charged for damage to the car that was already present. Fortunately I have taken photos but now face a battle to get my money refunded.
— Max • February 9, 2024Easy terminal pickup and return. Fast service. Very good rate.
— WKG • February 6, 2024
ABANDONED AT VALENCIA AIRPORT Previous experiences have been good but this was absolutely appalling. Their very basic job is to pick you up from the airport and take you to their office to collect your car because it is offsite. We landed on time, arrived at 9:30pm on a cold January evening, as we indicated on the booking and no-one collected us. No response from our 7 phone calls to their office (including out of hours service) and they did not attempt to contact us on the mobile number provided. They had simply closed the office early. So if you want to be sure you will have a car, we suggest you use an in airport service. Europcar were excellent and sorted us a car last minute - albeit at a significant extra cost to us. Customer service at Record Go was disgusting. Totally dismissive, refused to acknowledge any of the points made and only explanation was that they had ‘restrictions’ that night. They have not offered even one penny of refund. Unforgivable. DO NOT BOOK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
— Unsatisfied • January 15, 2024You forget how difficult, time consuming and inconvenient it is when you hire an off airport car. The car was not ready as had to be cleaned and was literally covered in deep scratches which we was not acknowledged by the staff on handover but when pointed out, shrugged it off saying it was on the online email report. On the return, we struggled to find a petrol station actually open within the stipulated 10k limit. Maybe they could help out a bit by providing a list of stations to avoid what we had to do in driving to various ones. There was no urgency on their side in taking us back to the airport for our flight. It seems to be behaviour we've come to expect from car hire companies but it's not really a service. At least they did not pressure us to buy their insurance on top of our privately purchased excess insurance.
— Ok experience • January 1, 2024Hire cost was excellent. Not that impressed with the car but you don't know that when you use for the first time. A bit of a language barrier (I should make the effort to learn Catalan!) but we sorted things.
— atarimad • November 23, 2023Very bad customer service, plus when you hire car, and don't take there insurance they charge you a extortionate rate of deposit £1000
— Sami Ahmed 15 • November 7, 2023The company is located a few minutes away from the airport, so at busy times there is a bit of a waiting time for the shuttle service involved. Otherwise, pick up and return are straightforward and efficient. Cars are clean, low mileage and in good condition. Prices are very reasonable. However, if you don’t buy their excess insurance (which is expensive) they will block €1100 on your credit card, until you return the car undamaged. Overall, a good experience and I would hire there again.
— Matt • October 7, 2023Good experience, when arriving the staff were kind, easy setup to then get your keys. Handing back was quick and simple. Good price too.
— Matt • October 4, 2023Good service, nice car easy transfers and no problems.
— Mike • October 3, 2023RECORD GO, PLEASE DON'T GO! I rented a car with Record Go through the booking website and had a series of problems. 1) when renting a car, the booking contract states that it is possible to use credit card vehicle insurance. When I arrived at the Record Go store, in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), the attendant was rude and didn't accept it and made me pay a Comfort premium insurance of 142.20 EUR considering that the amount charged on the rental company's website was 89 EUR (5 days). This is simply wrong! 2) I had an incident with the parking lot in the city where they towed the car. There signaling was off, an oversight on the part of the city council (I have photo to prove that). Faced with this problem, I immediately called the rental company's phone number +34 964 631 546, just like indicated by the hotel receptionist. Log the incident with Record Go customer service by phone on 06/16/23 around 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. And the calls must be recorded in the company system for verification. I talked with 3 people and they never tell me how proceed according to the vehicle's situation. They said that will call me again by phone and wait more than 45 minutes. However, nobody called me back. I had to call a taxi and I went to the airport. When I arrive there, at the drop off service, the attendant said that the problem was mine and that I would solve it myself in the town hall parking lot, just giving me the direction. This means you have a surcharge of 44 euros with a taxi, overcosting due to the lack of telephone customer service, a team totally unprepared to provide information that must be known by its employees. 3) Three months after the trip, Record go, without prior notice, charged my Wise debit card a fee of 40 euros directly using a chip and password. For a week I thought someone had cloned my card and requested cancellation with Wise. I notified Record Go about the situation and after many days they told me that the fee would be a fine received. However, after several emails from me requesting information, no one from the company confirmed to me that this fine really exists or confirmed my address to receive the charge in my country. How can I be sure and comply with my obligation to pay a fine if the company does not provide the information? Is this a fraud by Record GO to charge 40 EUR from the foreign customers?
— Aline • September 24, 2023Very clean car.
— Woody • September 20, 2023Nice car, not what we asked for but that's standard from past experiences.they did try to push for insurance even though we had it as well as excess cover.
— Sean • September 19, 2023Great car at a very competitive price.
— Mags • September 17, 2023be aware of their malpractice, I have been charged when I have been back to england when I was assured by Victoria at the drop off no charge will be made for a tow invoice and a fault in the car I have hired. When complaining with the customer service they haven't help and they provide an invoice only month after
— marcoiacca • August 15, 2023They have hidden charges. On the insurance. And when you leave the car, they say is Ok , but then , even with a clean small car, they charged 75 euros for cleaning. Be aware.
— Lola • May 22, 2023Terrible experience, they will try to keep whatever they can from your deposit. When we picked up the car, it had stains on the driver and back seats. When we dropped the car off, they said we made the stains and charged us €95 for the cleaning fee! When we asked for photos of the car BEFORE the pick up they said they didn't have any photos and that it was our fault. They also took ages to respond to our emails and we had to chase them multiple times even though they were holding our deposit. We never got our money back despite requesting evidence that we were the ones that got it dirty. Appalling, scam to take away whatever they can from your deposit.
— LT • April 11, 2023Email chain below sums this company up. Warn all of your family and friends. Email anonymised. Case number: XXXXX Dear Mr. XXXXXXXX, We hereby would like to inform you that, due to your customer profile and/or to a breach of contract, our company will no longer rent vehicles to you. Sincerely, Customer Service – Record go “Dear Sir / Madam, I write to complain about the way I was treated and the manner in which my reservation noted above was cancelled. I am a record club member, email address xxxxxxxxxxxx. This was meant to be my first of many reservations as we have purchased a new holiday house in Malaga. However, I have and will not make any further reservations until I feel this has been resolved. I showed up with my wife and children all set with a confirmed reservation that I had already paid in advance. When a problem showed up, the lady at the desk refused to even deal with me! She told me to go away and phone customer services ! This took time, only for me to be told there was no vehicle for us. No apology. My family and I were then stranded at the airport for a long time until we managed to find a company that could rent us an appropriate vehicle. Being last minute, it cost a lot more than the reservation I THOUGHT I had with Record. I have now been refunded but would appreciate a voucher to go towards my next Record booking given how badly we have been treated and how much it cost us in the end. Please can you respond and let me know if this is possible. Kind Regards”
— Anonymous180 • January 25, 2023We booked a small category vehicle (Seat Ibiza) via Booking.com with full cover through Booking.com. In the meantime, before the trip, my card was stolen and then cancelled. Since this was Christmas time, the bank took longer to issue a new card and it didn't arrive on time. At the airport we paid for the second driver, who had all his cards, but the lady at the counter said she couldn’t give us the car then. I asked if she could change the main driver. Of course, but only if she charged us extra 275 euro for full cover. She also said she had no problem showing me where it said so. Pretty rude, I’d say. Especially since that was the very card that paid for the booking. Nobody minded then. There was no "Just a second, I'll talk to my manager and see what we can do". Nothing. It was like her sole goal was to squeeze out all the money she could. She left the wrong address and email and phone number in the system and on the document (mine). I checked it before she changed the driver, but she never asked us to recheck the data after. Nothing really mattered any more as soon as she took money. And we got C3 Aircross, which is twice the size we wanted. Why did we choose the vehicle category if they give us whatever they want anyway? No manual, of course. We had to look online for all the initial issues. We travel a lot and frequently rent cars. Sometimes there are unexpected problems and in such cases all the companies so far have tried to help or find a compromise. Record Go apologized. They are thankful they can benefit from my experience and improve. They'll forward the complaint to their staff manager. However, the lady just did her job. It was all in accordance with the company rules. Of course it was. Which tells you a lot about the company. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to help them improve. Cost me a few, but helping companies to do better is... priceless?
— Ana • January 17, 2023Easy process, good car, great price. No problems to report.
— MrDay • October 25, 2022Car was heavily damaged and I was told it was the end of season and I should take photos, for discussion when I handed it back. Why should I be placed in that sort of position and have the worry of this sort of discussion? Staff were pleasant, but the car should not have been rented out as it was.
— Overseas driver • October 13, 2022Great service, English speaking staff, car clean and tidy, easy transfer from airport and back. Would definitely recommend and use again.
— Paul C • October 11, 2022Very good service and vehicle as described
— Nick • September 25, 2022
All good
— alexvendet • September 19, 2022Arrived to collect car & completed paperwork, they were not interested in the fact that I had taken out excess waiver cover saying it was no good & continually tried to sell their own which I declined & suggested I take photos of the car, no one came out to the car & I was left to find the car on my own & had to check it over & note existing defects/photos. I would not recommend this company & would never use them again, I considered them to be very un professional & un helpful
— unhappy • September 15, 2022The pick up, although prebooked and paid for, took more than an hour and ALL of the paperwork had to be completed AGAIN. The self service machines were only available in Spanish and there were only two staff trying to serve about eight people.
— SH • September 4, 2022No issues.
— Steve • August 28, 2022Easy to find and polished service
— Steve • August 5, 2022Very poor check in even though car was pre booked and paid for
— Will • June 23, 2022New pick up desk and much slicker service than 4yrs ago. Low deposit.
— Trebor • June 14, 2022Don't touch this company with a bargepole. Two days after our return, they charged an unauthorised £197 to our credit card without any explanation and are now refusing to answer any emails on this matter. Don't trust them!
— Karen • June 13, 2022Rented car from Alicante for 2 weeks. First positives: - Car was as promised, less than 6 months old, though this was something I was paying extra for and it was not exactly cheap - Returning the car went fine also. Showed the receipt of filling the tank and everything was ok. But then: Car was rented so that I had to pay extra for full fuel tank and I should get refund after returning it with full tank. After a while I checked my credit card charges and there was an extra charge of fuel for 15,98 €. No explanation of why was ever send to me. Maybe the fuel prices rose I figured, so let it be. Then I noticed there's also extra charge of 30,00 €. Also no explanation. I send them email about these. And another one. No one answered. Then I sent them more annoyed email demanding an answer or I'll complain to my credit card company and write here. This started a long discussion where they tried to justify stealing my money. 1. They claimed the tank was missing more than 1/8 of the fuel. I send them photo, taken when returning the car, with full tank. 2. Then they claimed the car was not refueled as agreement states (10 kms from returning point). I sent them receipt that it was. 3. Then they claimed I refueled the car previous day and therefore it's against the contract. I explained I drove straight to hotel on the way to returning point and in the contract it does not state that the refueling needs to be done the same day. 4. Then they claimed that the fuel station is more than 10 km's from returning point. I send them Google Maps route that shows the distance being 5,4 kms. After this they just told me that the issue is finished. So if you use their service, make sure that you have all the proof for complaint, as they will want to have extra money from you if they can.
— hakahaka • June 7, 2022As ever, collection process was complicated and the automated terminals didn't work properly. Car was 'very basic' Fiat Tipo, filthy inside and with tyre warning system disabled due to a fault. Typical Spanish car hire experience. However staff were very friendly and drop off process was super quick. Just a shame the walk to/from the terminal and the car hire garage was like a half marathon! (but that Malaga Airport for you)
— pm115 • May 29, 2022Satisfactory
— Pablo • May 3, 2022Utterly awful company, car was so dented, and then they tell you if you haven't booked direct through them there is a £1000 pound excess - unless you pay another £200 on top of the incredibly expensive price (500/10 days). As others say there is a fuel charge straight off. Also, we were then fined, yes fined, and charged an additional day for a late return. Overall, felt like they are just out to do you for as much money as possible on all sides and car was not particularly anything special for so much money Only plus was a decent van to and from airport to their centre, although you also have to call them to let you know you've arrived... So you need phone and roaming set up
— Eve • April 25, 2022Very good, efficient serive, nice car
— Nigel • April 21, 2022Car was in poor condition, dirty inside and out. Dealt with 4 people, 2 were excellent- very polite, kind, and helpful. The lady who we spoke to at collection did not explain anything and didn't seem to care whether we understood the process for checking out the car. I had to go back and speak to someone else. Upon returning the car they offered no receipt and did not look at the car, yhe lady was very dismissive. This made me uncomfortable as they could claim damages after I've left. I insisted on someone confirming the car was in the same condition as when I got it, the gentleman who did this was excellent.
— Jazz • March 31, 2022too much pressure to buy there insurance and lack of basic insurance like breakdown cover was your responsibility
— Hobbs • February 10, 2022Easy to check in and friendly staff. The car was clean and new, although not the car I had hired. When returning the car they went over it with finger tips to ensure there was no unseen damage. Make sure any one hiring a car does the same before driving away as it looked liked you could be charged for the slightest thing. I returned the car with no problems. Just waiting for my excess and petrol refund now.
— Marco2 • February 2, 2022Really cheap car hire for 4 days away. Car so so, few scratches and dents, no aerial or rear wiper. Still awaiting refund of CDW excess of €1100 and petrol excess €80 back onto credit card....so score would be higher if that had been refunded. Had to leave petrol receipts in car to prove refilled back to a full tank??!! Car returned cleaner than I received it as I washed and hoovered prior to return earlier today!
— Alan • December 31, 2021In November 2021 I hired a car at Alicante airport though Record go. After returning the car I noticed unexplained charges were raised on my credit card. Despite several phone calls and emails to record go, I have still not received an explanation for the charges. I am very disappointed at the way this company is treating me, and suspect that I am not the only person who has received unexplained charges. Please be very careful if you are considering using record go, and you should consider using another company.
— stpjc01 • December 24, 2021Unexplained charges
— stpjc01 • December 24, 2021Excellent in every way

Being an off airport car rental company is cheaper than on airport, but at Ibiza airport it does have issues. The location of the shuttle collection point is quite a walk (in poring rain for us) and is not signposted at all. However, RecordGo are efficient and fast at doing the paperwork and the car pick up is not too far on the shuttle. For the first time ever I was asked to photo the car before taking it out of the location. Luckily I did as I missed some damage on visual inspection but I just captured it on a photo to prove I was not liable for the damage. Overall a reasonable rental experience and would use the company again now that I know where to catch the shuttle.
— Fallbarrow • October 29, 2021Arrived 9.30 pm in October,no queues at all. 4 ladies at the desk, did get a pressurised sale about buying the full insurance, but I said politely no thanks. Did get a good rate buying on line .Given car choice fiat panda or 500.car smells of tobacco supposedly disinfected!!,otherwise ok ,had to pay a deposit for fuel this was checked on returning and you had to leave the receipt, had to pay €1100 deposit.
— Mikey • October 23, 2021DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY IT IS A SCAM ! The worst ever experience in my life ! Not just renting a car, but ever ! This company is either a scam or just mad ! I booked a car for 10 days with full insurance, to have piece of mind. Once i arrived at the counter in malaga airport, the lady was very rude greeting us. She refused to give us the car !! Why? Because she said i needed an international drivers license. I have a drivers license written in Roman letters and, according to their own email, if you have a drivers license with roman letters it is possible to drive ! (I will post a picture of their email when confirming the booking) Oh and by the way, i rented a car with the SAME drivers license same week with Wiber in mallorca and with SIXT in malaga ( on the same night of the accident !!) Really the worst ever thing that has happened to me.
— Jad kamari • July 15, 2021They gave us a car that was an absolute wreck, and thankfully we took plenty of photos before and after the car was taken out and returned. 2 weeks later we found a claim for hundreds of pounds on our debit card even though we had heard nothing from recordgo. Thankfully we had photos showing the damage was there at the time of hire, but it still took us 6 months to get our money back. Hire a car from them at your peril, as this made up damage is a common occurrence
— Cynical brit • January 28, 2021MALAGA AIRPORT in terminal...
— Springdene • December 3, 2020If you are using your own insurance be very careful. I know to check the cars and take a video. In 15 years I have rented more than 50 cars at Alicante airport I have never seen an agent crawl under the front spoiler of the car to find some damage. I know I did not cause the damage, but could not prove it. The agent seemed to know where to look! Please be warned as they will debit your credit card and you have no comeback. Desperate times for rental companies but if you treat regular customers like this they will not come back. Don't get caught like this
— Clive • October 29, 2020When we picked up our car at Seville there was only one poor girl doing both minibus transfers and check-ins. She was terribly stressed and clearly should not have been left alone to deal with everything by Record Go. As a result we were rushed through check in. The first two cars we were offered were badly damaged. Finally we accepted a third vehicle and signed the contract we were presented with in some haste. The girl was in tears with a queue at check in and more customers waiting at the terminal in the baking sun. We were trying to do her a favour by signing swiftly. Our reservation voucher clearly said unlimited mileage on it so we thought everything was straightforward. Our booking was for two months so unlimited mileage was obviously important so us. HOWEVER, on returning the car we were charged 1000 euros for extra mileage!!! Apparently in the small print of the contract (that we only had minutes to read) it said we had to get the car checked after 2000k. We believe we should have been notified of this tiny subclass ESPECIALLY as we had booked a car for two months and obviously risked doing more than 2000k. I will never recommend Record Go - their customer service on the day was unacceptable and they are unprepared to accept they are at fault for not giving us a decent check in process with proper advice. If we had known of course we would have complied with conditions of contract. Totally unacceptable behaviour from an appallingly run company. Never use them.
— DJMac • September 30, 2020They are con artists. We hired a car from them at Malaga airport. The car had a lot of damage on it, which was indicated on their paperwork. I also took some photos to be safe. I returned it in the same condition, clean and with a full tank of fuel. When I got my next credit card statement I found that they had charged £995 claiming that I had caused the damage. I sent them the proof that I hadn't but they ignored it.
— AntonyM • August 25, 2020Friendly helpful and calm staff!
— Jon • July 17, 2020BEWARE!! We booked through DiscoverCars.com and they provided a rental from Record-go and it was a terrible service. We got a flat and when I looked in the boot for a repair option, found the wheel or kit were missing. When we rang their road side assistance we were told that the car (and myself) would need to wait for a pickup truck from Seville. We had a 2 hour journey back to Seville, pickup another car and then drive back to our holiday base. Return-go told us they deliberately remove the spare wheel & repair kit!!!. So I lost out a day of our holidays and were charged over €400 for the pickup and €200 for new tyre!!
— RonanB • March 17, 2020Pushy and arrogant at pick up when i asked questions on fuel policy and didn't want to purchase their extra insurance. On return charged me 270Euros for a tiny mark that could easily have been polished out, the lady checking the car went straight to the mark and didn't bother checking the rest of the vehicle. This company has excessive charges and over complicated policies. Please do not book with the and get caught out like i did.
— NRB • March 4, 2020Very unpleasant when we didn’t buy their excess insurance (we had our own) and then on returning the car they they charged us £200 for a small scratch in front of the wheel that we hadn’t made (our pick up photos of the car didn’t show that area as it was sloping under car so we couldn’t defend) will never use them again.
— Nothappy • February 26, 2020Really good, efficient, friendly, and cheap. Recommended.
— JoeBloggs • February 24, 2020Price is competitive but in exchange you have to do your own check in / contract on a large touch screen and scan your driving licence / documents Waiting time was about 10-15 min which is standard I think We got given a different car that we contracted and when pointed out the need for a larger bout all they wanted was for us to pay for an upgrade !! Gave up eventually and piled the suitcases on the back seats . The family in front of us had exactly the same issue .. The car hadn’t been cleaned properly and a piece of half eaten chocolate Kit Kat was left on the back seat . When we returned the car there was nobody to checked it out . We left the keys on a box and are crossing our fingers as , at this point , have little trust on the company !
— Morla • February 23, 2020Quick pick up great car good service
— Jimbo • February 17, 2020The pick up is automated by machine and you are asked to photograph the documents. You are then directed to another floor and given the keys. One of the documents shows all the damage. This is very hard to check as it is dark so had to use torch on the phone. All a bit stressful. The return was ok the attendant looked round the car , checked the petrol and said all ok . There’s no way all the previous damage was checked
— Dickie • February 17, 2020Conveniently on airport and quite polite at the desk. A bit of a wait for the keys but not too long. I've used this company frequently and I'd recommend them.
— Francesca • January 26, 2020Loooong waiting time although we booked the car ahead and almost no people
— Kat • January 24, 2020The car hire company advertised as "on Airport" but the car collection was a very long walk, which was an issue for my wife who has walking difficulties.
— Mike B • January 12, 2020Arrived early to airport and wouldn’t let me get a car earlier than booked. Quick to give the car over without doing checks missing bulbs . Quite scratched. Upon return checked over with a fine tooth comb. Took money from my credit card for “fuel” despite me bringing it back with a full tank.

Bad from start to finish Record Go - Alicante airport This is my first experience of hiring a car abroad - and I can say one positive is it's taught me a lot. unless of course you buy all of their extras and insurance policies, they will rip you off at any opportunity. Arrived at airport - picked up a ticket, and others who had come after were seen first (now know this is due to priority 50.00 payment). The woman we saw was very pushy and rude. She charged my credit card for an additional driver, which I eventually had refunded when I showed her it was included in my booking for free through the broker holiday autos. she wasn't a happy bunny. Luckily I had read all of the info sent to me from holiday autos - which said to decline all extra insurances, warning me that I would have 1100 euros blocked on my credit card. I had excess refund insurance through axa - added it on through holiday autos. The woman was VERY rude, and tried to push the insurance policies, first offering 145.00 then 55.00. When I said no she was very aggressive and told me the insurance wasn't valid, and I'd be liable for all damage. Went to pick up the car, first off a fiesta - found that the cigarette lighter didn't work to charge sat nav - so given a seat Ibiza. Checked over the car - found scratches and told the guy at the office, who told me anything under 4cm isn't considered damage. He wouldn't come and look, telling me that everything is on the contract. I took photos of everything I could see. The car was fine driving, and did me for what I needed. Unfortunately the experience dropping off wasn't great. Handed over the keys. And straight away the woman went over to the back and pointed out 'damage'. A scuff, and 2 scratches under 4cm. But they seem to have their own rules when it comes to scratches. I was charged over 350 euros for the privilege. If you are going to go through 'Record Con' here's some tips... 1. Ensure you check ALL over the car and note down ALL damage no matter how small... including the interior. Take photos of EVERYTHING. They also have an app - although it doesn't allow you to take many photos of the same area. 2. Get them to come and verify the damage before you leave. Don't be sucked in to a false sense of security with the '4cm scratch' line. 3. If you have excess refund insurance - don't let them bully you to buy more. 4. Take photos of the interior before you leave - they have sent people bills for 95.00 euros for cleaning. 5. make sure you have a credit card - someone I met in the carpark had 1100 euros blocked on their debit card because they don't take certain credit cards. 6. Fill up your tank on the way back - and take receipts. Ensure you get your refund for petrol. They will take this 66.00 euros off of your credit card before you take your car. 7. Get receipts of all damage payments, take photos, and keep ALL paperwork so that you can claim anything you are charged back through your damage excess refund insurance. 1 * for customer service 5 * for conning customers ;)

— Lauried • November 9, 2019DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! They charged us for scratches on the car that we have never made and they just took the money from our creditcard without informing us about it, no mail, no phonecall, no explenation!!!! They say we made the scratches, that is NOT TRUE, they were already there when we picked up the car. We sent them an e-mail with a video we took of the car, they have not responded to this mail at all. I HAVE NEVER before experienced anything like this, I strongly recommend everyone to STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
— Aud • October 31, 2019Horrible experience on multiple counts: - Waiting one hour at reception without pushing rental to when we actually received vehicle (as is the normal custom) - Making a range of mistakes during pick-up, trying to charge us additional days and arguing that we had booked more days than we had (which we had to then show twice since it didn't seem to go through) - Charge excessive fees for insurance (they reel you in with their low day rate, but in the end paying the same as any major int'l chain, which are much much better). - Horrible vehicle pick-up garage, walking 5 stories down (without elevator/proper walkway) and nearly impossible to drive out with large car (while their staff is flying around blind corners at high speed - highly unprofessional) - Unable to drop-off vehicle at night - our rental was until Monday morning 10AM, we had a flight at 9AM and wanted to drop off vehicle at 6-7AM, but were forced to drop vehicle at 10PM the evening before since they would not have been open otherwise and would've simply continued charging us as they require you to deliver vehicle while office is open (cheap way to incur extra costs - which rental agency doesn't have a keybox for dropoff? One that tries to scam you into additional charges) - Staff not helpful during drop-off, had to drive the car down into the depths of the tiny 5 floor garage again (first time after 100's of rentals that a staff hasn't taken the vehicle from the office drop off) - Unfriendly staff - Bogus ticket claim and already charged my card admin fee of 40eu without any evidence of ticket Will never rent from them again and advise others to stay away - much better to go with reliable int'l agencies (Avis, Sixt, Budget, Europcar, etc.).

— AGCV • October 28, 2019bit of a queue picking car up and it's frowned on that you have your own excess cover but the price was ridiculously cheap and the dropping off experience was very positive
— philh • October 22, 2019When we arrived we struggled to find the minibus to the depot. The system to enter our booking did not accept our booking number. The receptionist denied we have already paid our insurance with our booking .so we had to take out a second policy . The basic policy did not cover more than 100ks per day so we paid extra for that. They took off E55 for fuel up fromt To date this has not been refunded . On return they wanted another E 95 cleaning charge - the whole experience was horrendous-and is still not sorted . avoid like the plague.
— Will • October 16, 2019Criminal, fraudulent company. Avoid!!!
— CliveG • October 14, 2019Veronica at Record was brilliant from the start. She made what can be a tiresome experience a pleasant experience. She explained everything clearly and a smile is always a good way to begin a holiday. Well done Record👍
— Steve O • October 10, 2019First review I’ve ever written and writing it to stop anyone from using this company. It’s systemised, formalised scam. Every step is made to try and con you out of money, I’ve never seen anything like it. Am amazed it hasnt been shut down by authorities, as can’t imagine some of the exploitation and trickery can possibly be legal. They should be put out of business immediately
— Freddie • September 27, 2019Busy, too busy
— Old Fart • September 26, 2019Rented car via internet company, took insurance out to cover damage etc.on arrival at record reception, had to wait ages to be seen by someone. Was informed needed to pay extra €70 because over 70yr,then if didn't pay€20 would be limited to 125km per day!!! so in desperation took out full insurance €217 because had been there for so long arguing the point but getting no where. What a load of bandits!! So be aware.
— OAP • September 25, 2019A terrible bunch of hard sell conmen. Threatening no car unless took extra insurance. Fi d scratches on returns when all panels are covered in scratches in the first place. Do not use them !!
— SteveW • September 24, 2019Got very cross when I told another customer about excess insurance, said "You mustn't talk to other customers" I informed her that Franco was dead and I'd talk to anyone I please.
— Bovo • September 23, 2019do not hire from these bunch of crooks, they take your money but do not want deal with any complaints and refund you. no contact number to call customer service you can see why service terrible .
— tt • September 20, 2019Very Poor service!! waited over 2.5 hours to collect my car. Then they had the cheek to charge me €40 out of hours collection when I arrived way inside the out of hours time. Very rude staff. Forced to take out excess insurance even though it stated it on my car hire reservation. I was told that I wasn't covered as it wasn't their insurance even though I paid the excess along with the original booking. It was either pay it or I was told I wasn't getting the car. I noticed whilst waiting my turn in the queue customers were getting very aggravated the way they were being treated and at one stage the checking in staff pushed his face in to a waiting customers face and then refused to serve them. Will Never Use This Company Again!!!!
— Big Diapointment • September 11, 2019Very helpful, very competitive price via doyouspain . com, easy pick up clean car 30k on the clock quite a few dings etc but all listed on the handover sheet. was over an Audi A1 sport for 30 Euros at the desk which I didn't take but then wished I had as it was a lovely looking car when we got down to the pick up area. drop off was easy and stress free as well.
— Gaz • August 29, 2019I have never seen such a worst rental car company than this in my life. They are very far away from Barcelona airport (actually in next village) & the instructions were not given. After calling them 5 times, we actually found out where would they pick up in their van & take us there. At 11pm in the night, while signing the rental agreement €28.49 charge comes up which is non-refundable even if you return full tank. This is disastrous. Never paid such charges & also you are left with no choice at 11pm. The deposit they hold in the card is actually returned after 6 weeks for which you have to pay interest on your credit card. I sent them 5 emails & only one was replied. My car was damaged in Barcelona by an invader. They took money twice from credit card on top of deposit & they are still not replying after 2 months what is the actual cost as the invoice they sent was taken in first time. My insurance company is also chasing them for that, but still it remains unresolved after 2 months. One of their representative informed while returning the car that it is very common to get rental car damaged in Spain. So please avoid particularly this company. They are coming up as cheapest on the internet, but not at all reliable. You end up with many other expenses & particularly credit card interest on the bigger amount. All other car rental companies release deposit within a week (my experience so far from other companies is just next day), while they hold for 6 weeks. So please avoid!!
— Ankit • August 22, 2019The service received from RecordGo was excellent. On dropping off the keys the car was checked promptly and there were no issues. It was a relief and a surprise to receive such a positive service from a car hire company.
— Julie S • August 19, 2019They are a bunch of scammers.when i returned the car in perfect condition.they asked me if i had extra insurance,i said yes,the guy proceeded to the front of the car, crawled under and told me i had damaged the underside,i told him i had driven the car with the utmost care and it must have been like that when i got it.he told me i should have spotted this on pick up.i told him i dont normally crawl under cards to check them,he told me that my extra insurance would cover it and proceeded to claim my 1100 euro excess.i asked him why he went straight to the passenger underside to look as soon as i said i had extra insurance and why he didnt check the other side.he then pretended to not understand properly.TOTAL SCAM

I would strongly recommend against hiring a car from RecordGo in Majorca. When we arrived at the car rental desk, there was a wait of over 2.5 hours to collect the car. This was a very unpleasant start to our holiday and staff were unsympathetic, despite us travelling with a young baby. The hire service maybe cheaper, but it is terrible value.
— MattLondon • August 12, 2019Too long waiting picking up car over 2 hours, car was filthy inside & out, damage was beyond a few scratches and headlight was broken from a big dent on front of car
— Dazmo • August 11, 2019Too long waiting picking up car over 2 hours
— Dazmo • August 11, 2019When I went to collect car it wasn't ready. Had to go back to the office and change the paper work for another car. Finally when we got the car it was covered in scrapes and dings and these were not on the paperwork. Had to go back again to office to get the rep to go around the car with me. She kept trying to ignore the marks but we wanted them recorded as Didn't want to get billed for them. Once she had noted them down we had to go back to the office again ..and queue again to get paper work updated. Finally 40 mins later we were ready to leave. I pulled out of the car park space and did a final check. There were scrapes all along the bottom of the car. The car park was dimly lit. Had to get another rep over to record it and queue up again to get paper work corrected to show the damage. This car was less than a year old!!. Eventually after an hour we were ready to go. We kept being told that the marks were fine and not to worry about it. I am so glad we recorded every scrape and Mark because when we returned the car 2 weeks later they said just leave the keys and go. We were not happy with this and insisted they were happy with the car and signed it off before we left. So glad we insisted on this as they went over it with a fine tooth combe and a torch checking every panel and Mark. We would of probably lost our deposit otherwise as once we were away we would of found it hard to argue our case.
— Si • August 10, 2019Do not use Record Go! I thought the price was too good to be true - unfortunately I turned out to be right! - we waited 25 minutes for our paperwork to be processed. - the member of staff asked us if we wanted to pay a €1400 refundable deposit or an additional €175 (to avoid us leaving the hefty deposit) which I found to be unusual. - we waited a further 15 minutes to collect our key from the car park office. - the car was parked inches from the next car and the drivers seat was an inch or so from the concrete pillar. My partner had to squeeze in the passenger side and climb across to the drivers seat to pull the car out for us to get in. - the two children’s car seats we had paid for were not in the car, so we had to go back to the office to collect them. - the family next to us had paid for a sat Nav but none of the staff knew how to change the language to English. - as instructed, we looked over the car for damage and scratches ‘longer than 4cm’ but we couldn’t find anything. - on return of the vehicle, the member of staff checking over the car found a scratch on the drivers hubcap measuring 4.5cm. There was no way we would have spotted this and think the car was strategically parked so we wouldn’t spot the scratch. - we were charged €175 for the damage and an extra €50 for paperwork. The member of staff shrugged his shoulders and told us ‘it wasn’t his problem’. We found the whole process not at all customer friendly and they literally just try to get money from you at every turn. Pay the extra and go to a company that actually tries to provide good customer service.

— Melissa W • August 8, 2019This was the first time I have rented a car and was worried about the bad reviews of all car hire companies. Record Go also had its fair share of bad reviews l, all be it from a couple of years ago. I weighed up hiring from Record Go or with one of the premium brands and decided on Record Go as I didn’t want to pay there times the amount for a similar car. I was pleasantly surprised there was no hard sell to take their extra insurance, the car was in an acceptable condition with all damage noted on the paperwork. Drop off was easy and we were told the car did not have any new damage. We then received our deposit back within two days. I would use Record Go again
— Jimbo • August 5, 2019Record Go manager told me that I must leave the deposite for the fuel. They took 71 euro from my card. When I got back with the full fuel tank the new manager tell me that it was not deposite, it was payment for the fuel. So the first manager, who gave me the key, lied. This is cheating. Do not use this car rental company.
— nimda • July 24, 2019RecordGo are the worst and most devious car hire company I have ever used, and I've used a lot! The car collection area is in darkness, so I had to use a torch to look over the car to locate any scratches they had missed on their paperwork, oh, and they had missed some! When the car is returned the drop off area is under 100's of spotlights, so obvioulsy no torch needed! Sly sly tactics... the lady then proceeded to find a scratch only someone who knew the car inside out could find and we were charged €300 for a tiny scratch that we certainly did not do, I can assure you. It would have taken me all week to find the scratch she conveniently located. I wonder how many people have been charged for this one same scratch! They're a classic shelf life company to make money quick by offering some of the cheapest (on the face of it) car rentals but they proceed to 'sting' their customers. They have to make their money somehow right. Given their appalling reviews they clearly don't care and will probably close down soon having ripped off 1000's of people. Absolute scammers, I would never touch them again, and hope anyone reading this doesn't either. Avoid at all costs, never used such no moral type of car rental compnay before!
— Laura • July 24, 2019Tried hard to sell extra insurance on pick up but gave up when told them about my excess policy. Gave us a brand new car :)
— Flemfield • July 19, 2019Long wait to collect the car but other than that very straight forward.
— mplooney • July 18, 2019Despite bad reviews, I recommend Record go. I booked a small-size (like ford focus size) car with full coverage on their webpage (as I understand, it is important is to not make an order via other webpages) for 3 weeks in Alicante. Service was ok and quick (full coverage includes also fast-track). Instead of a small car, I got completely new Opel Mocca Eco which ran only 1100 km. I had parking radars and back camera, air-con (of course), navigator, and car-play. I had the full-full option and when returning the car I was not able to find gas-station around the airport (some gas-stations which are in show by google were closed). I was stressed and decided to not drive around any longer as I was already 15 minutes behind return time. It was basically my fault, I supposed to reserve more time for tanking, can't blame record go for that. I explained the situation while leaving the car key and to my surprise, I got gas almost all pension money back and Record-go didn't charge me for tanking service, however, it is good to notice that my tank was almost full but anyway not full enough according to rental conditions. I have an only positive experience with record go and will definitely rent a car there next time.
— Tatiana • July 15, 2019Check very carefully, they try to charge you for a service and refuelling charge even when you present the car back as you took it. It is not fair, and you cannot complain they just tell you NO. Please book with another company that is upfront about its policy
— john • July 15, 2019As good as you could reasonably expect. Nothing special but certainly acceptable. Had to make a three hour round trip to return our vehicle did to faulty air conditioning (VW Caddy - done less than 1,000 miles from new) and they initially argued against a replacement! Bit of pressure and they soon backed down! However, we would use them again.
— MNSevenoaks • July 13, 2019The price was ridiculously low when accompanied by excess insurance taken out separately. My car was 1.5 hrs late for some reason, but I did receive a better car than booked so that made up for it. Would be nice if staff were available 24hours for early drop offs.
— Grapes • July 3, 2019The overall car hire was good at the price they offer. The collection process, once we had worked out we had to take a ticket, was simple took about 20 minutes as it was busy and the lady was clear and helpful. The car did have an undocumented mark, but we took photos as advised and had no issues on return. Again the return area was busy and took 20 minutes to be seen and signed in but again no issues. They do take a 60 Euro deposit for Fuel but as we returned the car full this was refunded automatically to my credit card within 48 hours. Overall a good experience with a Budget car hire firm.
— IanC • June 25, 2019Great hire experience, no issues at all and was easy to find where to return car to. Only criticism was took over half an hour to be seen by someone at the desk when we arrived
— Slenny • June 19, 2019Attention! Beware of this company. They charged me by a scratch that I didn't do. The cheap turns out very expensive. When I did the hire online, it said that I will pay 11.27€. In the end, with admin fee, fuel tank fee and the little scratch that I didn't make, I payed 488.63€. Holidays ruined! Avoid this company.
— mavim • June 15, 2019Use frequently with no issues except the length of the queues at pick up. Good value.
— T6 • June 4, 2019Record go let down terribly. Due to a delayed fight expendia called them and they would hold our hire car till 10am the next day. When we arrive they did not hold our car, they would provide us with a suitable alternative, they were rude, they did not care, when O asked about car for emergency they said that we were not and emergency and wouldn’t not help. ( our situation was that my husband, two young daughter and I were stranded in valcenia and they did not or have any customer service abilities all.

Unfortunately there isn’t an option for 0 stars. Avoid at all costs!! We booked through a third party company took out extra insurance to be told at desk it’s not worth the paper it’s written on and we must leave €2000 deposit or pay another insurance of €250!! And if there is a mark on the car more than 4cm you lose your €2000. Absolute con artists. So wish I’d seen all these damning reviews before booking. Also have to wait ages for bus to company and waiting around in an office an hour to collect.
— Bex • May 6, 2019pushy with extras and always trying it on with not having correctly recorded damage. slows down process by having to take rep to check over car before leaving airport.... gold car even worse!
— Nathan • April 25, 2019They were very well priced, car was new, no problems with them at all.
— Bn101 • March 25, 2019Perfect. Half the price of others at the airport (even going for their highest price option with no excess). All the staff I spoke to were very friendly and professional and I was served immediately. Car was good, drop off quick and easy, fuel charge refunded quickly. Hassle free and one of the best car rental experiences I've had at an airport anywhere.
— Matt • February 28, 2019Excellent price great car helpful staff. Thank you
— Car hire Alicante • February 23, 2019- — Verified reviewer • December 30, 2018
After paying in advance for the car (all expences included, we were promised on their website), we were presented with hundreds of euros in hidden charges when we came to pick up the car at the airport (Malaga). Our protests were arrogantly dismissed and they just pointed to a 7 pages long contract written in small letters: "Look! See! It's contract!" Things turned out much worse when we actually went to the garage to pick up the car: We had booked two car seats for our son (2 years) and daugther (10 months), but the seats were of such a bad quality that words cannot do justice to describe their condition. Now, I have installed quite a few seats for children, but I had a very difficult time installing these, as they were very wobbly, and we were concerned for how safe they would be for our children. When we asked for assistance, they literally refused to help us, because "if we install them wrong, we are responsible" (!!!). Another couple had exactly the same problem; they spent 1 hour installing their seat, while we spent 1 1/2 on ours, late at night with tired and crying children. We were treated extremly arrogantly by their employee (Carmen), and she literally yelled and degraged my wife in front of other customers when she begged for help. I can honestly say that I have never experienced customer service this bad. STAY AWAY!!!
— Roy • December 24, 2018Absolute disgrace , they claimed when we brought the car back that we had a mark on the bumper. I disputed it and he said why are you bothered anyway as your car insurance will pay for it. They new that I had taken my own insurance. Terrible service and when I asked for the proof for my insurance they still 4 months after the event have sent me nothing just ignored my emails. How can you hire a car for a week for 25 euros, there policy is to find a scratch or make it up knowing you have to get a plane and cannot argue with them its all okay. I jusrt wish they would charge an appropriate fee instaed of hood winking people that they have got a great deal. Terrible company and Goldcar are no better.
— Marky • December 12, 2018Watch out! They take money from you credit without allowance (and nothing happened) after the rental period. And you cannot contact them!
— Al • December 10, 2018This company give Car Hire firms a VERY BAD name. I will never use them again and strongly suggest you do not either
— Moxy • November 15, 2018Absolute scam. Car pickup in complete darkness, hidden scratches, excess charge £190. On top of that charged for fuel despite returning the car full as described in policy. Never refunded. Do not use
— westy • October 25, 2018I hired a car for 4 days 2 weeks ago, the car had done 69,000kms (unacceptable for a rental) and had 15 points of damage on it. I discovered that evening that only one headlight was working, and there was no washer fluid for the windscreen. I'm still waiting for my fuel deposit back after 2 weeks (it was returned full and they have my 95 Euros) , and i still have a 2000 Euro block on my credit card - they have not as yet replied to my emails etc. The staff were rude and unhelpful, a young crowd who really did not care whatsoever. Apart from ' Sicily by Car', the worst experience of renting a car in my 30 years of doing so - Avoid, there's plenty of better companies out there!
— charleswood888 • October 22, 2018We hired through rental cars and paid for the insurance against the excess charge.
— Rooster rover • October 15, 2018Do not use this company. Absolute scam. Parents waited 1.5 hours to pick up car on arrival, we arrived later and to avoid the queue had to pay €50 for the express option. Pick went ok but cars parked miles away in very badly lit part of underground car park so difficult to assess any existing damage. On drop off a rep came to check the car and immediately identified a small chip on the bumper (the kind that would have been cause by a stone flying up from road) that we could barely see even when pointed out. The lady was extremely rude when we said that other companies would have included this as wear and tear stating 'what does it matter, you have insurance'. We had paid for full insurance via rentalcars.com as Record Go own insurance was double the price. They charged €300 for this chip. Essentially they are covering the wear and tear on their fleet of cars by using the insurance from 3rd parties. They have a security guard on the door to the office because of the sheer number of angry customers. Never seen anything like it. Do no be tempted by the price. Use another company.
— MC • September 30, 2018esta compañía engaña y extorsiona dinero - después de deducirlo, recolecta dinero de su tarjeta de crédito sin su conocimiento.
— SL • September 29, 2018Wholeheartedly agree with all of the negative comments posted by others. Arriving at Palma Airport excited for our holiday was followed by TWO HOURS of hell waiting for one of their incompetent, unmotivated and completely immoral individuals to call our number. When we finally got to the counter, in between long casual chats with colleagues, the woman asked for all the info we gave online once again. And then – it’s sell sell sell. 1400 euro deposit or 120 insurance. (They force you to take one, despite the fact that the online booking spells out ‘insurance included’). Plus fuel, around 70. So the cheap rates seen online are simply lies. But that’s not the end of it. When you finally get to the car park for collection – ANOTHER QUEUE. And when we got in the car, beyond stressed by this point, it was full of crumbs and dust inside and marked with water and scratches outside. Take photos of everything straight away if you are unlucky enough to end up with this company. Returning it was fast in our case but I think we were lucky to get the one OK employee. CHOOSE ANY COMPANY BUT RECORD GO!
— Lizgreen • September 19, 2018The worst experience we’ve had to date! Customer care is non existent, staff are rude, queues last for 5 hours unless you are willing to pay €50 to fast track. Pre purchased insurance apparently doesn’t cover you so had to purchase again at the desk to then be hit with a €200 invoice for a scuff mark - insurance doesn’t cover that apparently! Would not use Record Go again!!
— MillyC • September 14, 2018I rented a car with Record at Malaga airport through rentalcars.com. The telephone service with rentalcars.com was fantastic and the booking was made easily. I booked a car in the Ford Fiesta or similar class with a full-to-full fuel policy and unlimited milage. I was required to leave 1100EUR damage deposit and 60EUR fuel deposit. I also requested to cross the border into Gibraltar which was accomodated for with a 20EUR charge. Things went downhill from there. When checking in to collect the car, another customer had returned complaining their car had a foul smell, was damaged and didn't have any fuel and wanted to replace his car. This didn't give me good hopes for my rental. I was given a Nissan Micra which was in terrible condition - bumps, scrapes, sratches all over and the front bumper was hanging on by a thread. The car was in desperate need of a service. When I accelerated, the engine sounded like a bag of nails and hardly moved. The front tyres were also extremely low on tread. I returned the car with a full tank of fuel and requested the fuel deposit to be refunded. The lady who served be told me it hadn't actually been charged, only blocked on my card in case they needed to charge it (like the 1100EUR damage deposit). Days went by and the fuel deposit had actually been charged and hasn't been refunded. I got in touch with rentalcars.com and they refunded it back onto the card I booked the rental with without fuss. Overall, Record are a total shambles and I advise people to pay a litle bit more and hire from a reputable company. The locals all recommended a company called Del Paso which I will be trying next time. The service from rentalcars.com was fantastic and I can't fault them.
— Chris • August 7, 201817 June 2018 - Perfect, I've got a new Renault Megane (9km), fast pickup, very fast drop off.

For pease of mind, I also bought full insurance from Rental car.com . When reached the counter, I was forced and pressed to take full insurance which is €61. Lady on the desk , dint want to listen anything from my end, she was on the mood of hard push insurance sell . I was advised that the insurance I have bought from rentalcar.com, it covers nothing and I may have to pay extortionate amount of money if something happened. I was shocked and quite intimidiated however rentalcar.com assured me that my full protection actually covers everything. Thanks God. Before the car was handed over to me I had to hand over €1400 deposit for the car and €64 for fuel deposit from my credit card . I had to put all the deposit because I have refused to take full insurance from the counter which I was perfectly agree with. I was also advised that if the dent or body damage is above then 2cm I have to pay. I was told there is a dent on the front side however upon inspection we found more small dent on the body which we took photos. Points to be noted that the car was kept on the dark place in parking so I couldn't really check all around. We had no collision nor any damage, journey was really good . Car was kept in secured car park in al hambra palace ,Granada for couple of hours . Story got more dramatic when we came to return this car in our scheduled time . The lady whom we handed over the key , she was more into looking for pre existing spot and she found one. It was the right hand side wing and very very light marks which I wasn't aware of at all . She dint check anything else which was suspicious. She has advised me that I will be charged . When my friend showed his frustration in nice manner, she has threatened us and in rude manner she stated that if we want to miss the flight we can start arguing with her . Knowing the fact that we have to catch flight in 2 hours so we have decided to settle down. We all passenger felt the whole situation was like pre planned. I dint take full insurance from them hence they have targeted me . Heard a lot about car rental companies but I never seen such robbery in UK what I have experienced in Malaga airport. They have pre planned and manipulated the situation. They have charged me €279 for which was really laughable. I was looking for trading standard or such in Malaga or Spain where I can complain. I would advise everyone , better go for renowned trusted rental car hire and pay extra rather than paying less upfront and ended up with extortionate amount on this crooks RECORD GO car rental hand. — Avi • June 9, 2018On arriving in Ibiza we made our way outside to locate Record Go. We located the pick up point where a shuttle was parked to be told they were full and couldn’t take us. No apology or explanation. We asked what we were supposed to do and were told by the driver he would come back for us. 20 minutes later and we were able to get on the shuttle. We arrived at their depot where we waited a further 20 minutes to be seen. We were then called over to the desk to be told we had to pay €40 euros as we were late to collect the car. We explained about the shuttle and having to sit and wait but he did not care, acted without compassion and told us we had to pay. I was becoming quite upset and stressed at this point as this was the start of our holiday and I had already paid everything upfront when booking online. I am also pregnant so felt cute stressed. The man we were dealing with then told us there was a €29.99 charge for their handling fee and that we needed to pay for the fuel in advance - €69. There was nothing about this in the terms and conditions. We were told we would receive a refund of any fuel we did not use - based on other reviews we don't expect to get this back. Due to my emotional state at this point the man dealing with us agreed to not charge us the late fee (how kind!) He also told us we should have gone with their insurance and not Rentalcars and seemed quite annoyed about this. We then collected the car, taking photos of any scratches and damage before setting off. There were 15 marks noted on the paperwork already. On returning the car a week later we waited for the car to be ‘inspected’. A Record Go worker then came over to check the car. We were quite apprehensive as a customer parked across from us had been charged €150 for having sand in his boot! Even though in the terms and conditions it says the price includes cleaning. The guy inspecting this customers car looked very apologetic as it was his manager who had advised of the charge. We were told by this customer later on that he was told by the RecodGo worker since the manager had started it had been awful and they were being told to search and charge for as much as they could. The same man checking our hire car was really looking for any scratch he could find. We were standing behind the car near the boot corner when a Nissan Duke car being driven by a Record Go employee reversed and crashed hard into the rear of our hire car! We were stunned by what had just happened. Within seconds we were suddenly told our vehicle was fine and we could go. We ask the them to sign off the car as being returned without damage, which they then did by stamping our documentation. I took a couple of photographs of the damage that we had just occurred too. We asked about the fuel being returned to us which they said would be automatically refunded however, we shall see. I am hoping we get our full deposit back too. Do not use this company!
— NMai • June 4, 2018I am always weary of car hire companies especially ones that offer amazing deals. However, 9 days hire of a fiesta for £20:00 Fantastic deal. I thought what's the catch, there isn't one really, at the desk they will warn you about the £1100.00 excess and try to sell you excess insurance on top as a extra, about £100.00 thereabouts. I always buy my own excess insurance prior to hire at around £20.00 for £7000.00 cover. But even so if you add it up £120.00 for 9 days full cover no excess for damage or crash or anything is still very very good value. The recordgo hire staff are all pretty friendly and helpful, not very good English but better than my Spanish you get there in the end. Overall the experience was good no problems at all. As with any hire company always read the small print photo or video the vehicle all the way around as a reference especially if there is existing damage, check safety equipment is present and everything works. Once you leave it is then your responsibility.
— Carhire reviewer • May 12, 2018Good car at competitive price. Fuel deal was full-to-full and I was reimbursed before I even got back to Gatwick.
— Red House Rich • May 2, 2018Great car, great team, I had no issues, fast check in and out, very professional. I totally recommend!
— MARA • March 8, 2018Decent car good price however long wait time at pick up
— Halfmanhalfdesktop • March 4, 2018Similar to other reviews, I'd strongly recommend staying away. We were ripped off to the tune of £220 for an internal "tray" which they said was missing when we returned the car. We brought the car back in the exact same condition we received it. We did the external damage inspection (which was fine) but not quite sure how one is meant to identify missing pieces of a vehicle you've never been in - this is inappropriate and plain unfair. I can't help but notice from all the reviews that there seems to be a theme here of this company systemically ripping off customers for this sort of thing. Steer clear or you too will be scammed
— Paul • February 3, 2018Ripped off on Fuel reimbursement. Returned to full and took €15 from card
— alz • January 27, 2018The car was fine. No worries there. Collection was easy. We have been "had" over fuel charges on returning, though. Not too clever.
— Mike • October 29, 2017Unfair damage charge. Fortunatly coverd snd paid back to me by reduce my excess
— Persia • October 8, 2017No issues at all. Got what we paid for.
— Suzie • September 4, 2017Easy to hire from. Tried to hard sell their own excess insurance at over £250 for two weeks when we were collecting vehicle even though we had purchased are own prior to collecting vehicle for £26. Everything else was as set out on their website. Deposit returned promptly.
— bumholegeorge • September 1, 2017Ticket instantly advises of a 1 hour 10 minute wait, unless you opt to pay a 30 Euro express payment....just another car hire add on.
— TBone • August 15, 2017They were excellent, very simple and clear service and provided a good adequate car.
— JC • August 13, 2017excellent
— clubba • August 13, 2017Reasonable pick up service, paid fro express option, straight to front of que in terminal. However you then need to pick up keys from office in car park, no express option, so a bit pointless as had to que. Car had no documented damage, but upon inspection, quire a few dents and scratches which I had to point out, which involved going back to the office and standing in the que. Drop off painless, no silly charges for damage and fuel charged at reasonable rate.
— paul • August 11, 2017Friendly, helpful & efficient staff. Good value. Car we hired was an ex-premium hire company vehicle. It had several marker pen circles around previously reported marks which was a bit weird, otherwise it was very clean.
— Gary61 • August 9, 2017cheap, long queues, good car, but rip-off charge for childs booster seat.
— AKingReviewer • August 8, 2017
Our hire car was ideally suited to us and nice to drive. The assistant on the RecordGo desk was extremely proficient and friendly so that was a good experience. Less good was having to wait in a queue for over 20 minutes to process our booking.
— Hammy • August 6, 2017Takes too long to queue at Palma to collect your car, even with Club membership. The car was in poor condition and all damage on car at start was not properly recorded. Took ages to then get them to record. From start to end about 2 hours before able to leave with car. Other companies had no queues.
— CBS • August 1, 2017Pick up easy , but being unused to the lack of light car difficult to find in a multi storey car park . When found - no instruction booklet on car - it was complete with bells and whistles but was unable to fully utilise especially the sat nav. No one took me over the car either and had to ask and find someone re the handbrake very important! On return easy - just left keys with the reception but noone checked over the car and advised credit card payment will be returned back on to my card soon - no working days given , so will have to keep an eye on that. The purchase was straight forward and was glad not put off by company reviews as it would seem they at least have the pick up speeded up and ready to go and I had arrived at a very busy time. All said I would still consider them next time around.
— juicy • July 20, 2017Very long queue at pick up. Tried to sell extra insurance to me. Smelly, smoky and old car. Charged me £60 for a tyre that was apparently low on air!
— Badders • July 19, 2017Overall we had a good but not great experience with RecordGo. The good points: * Staff at the in airport desk were helpful and efficient. * Car park across from the airport with easy collection and return of the car. The not so good points: * The car offered was not the same as that quoted on the expedia order confirmation and the RecordGo staff insisted this was a problem with Expedia. * The car was not cleaned from previous use and was quite dirty and sandy inside. * There did not appear to be a full tool kit for tyre change. * Although I had comprehensive Excess cover purchased from reducemyexcess.co.uk I was still offered a very expensive weekly cover policy at an incredible €155.
— EMagee • July 7, 2017Hard up sell on everything! !!!! Charges €20 refuel charge, even if you return the car full !!!! On return the agent agreed the tank was full. Got and email the next day saying it was not full and a deduction had been made. No replies to my email.
— Mrtynf • July 2, 2017Easy fast and no problems.
— Rad • June 28, 2017Having used Record Go on three previous occasions , I booked a Hyundai i10 , when I reached the Airport I was asked if I would like an upgrade for an extra 10 Euros and was offered a Brand New Renault Megane GT Line car with only delivery mileage on the clock. This car came with loads of features such as sat nav, Bluetooth, push button start and key free locking and unlocking . I was very impressed and found this company great value for money.
— p4padge • June 25, 2017Very quick and efficient at the car hire desk.
— Mich • June 25, 2017Hidden charge concerning petrol
— Glenn • June 23, 2017was offered update to a brand new car for 20 Euros, extra for our10 day car hire, making the total car hire 40 euros + the price of fuel ( on a full to full basis. - always recommended) , eccellant value
— Wallayr • June 23, 2017It took a time to sort out the car hire which when youf gired and its 10 o clock at night was not a positive experience however, having taken out the reduce your excess cover saved time and mobey and fave us added assurance
